In this installment, we feature Shara Guillery, a graduate of our Advanced Medi-Spa Therapist program at the Mississauga Campus. Shara Guillery, Advanced Medical Spa Therapist Program, Mississauga
Shara came to IBI with a background as an esthetician and a hairstylist. She had completed several esthetics certificate programs from various beauty schools, and had a passion for education, personal growth, and development. With a desire to take her career to the next level, she began looking for a program that would broaden her skill set and provide her with more depth and knowledge.
When Shara learned about International Beauty Institute, she was instantly drawn to the school’s Advanced Medi-Spa Therapist diploma program. She was looking for a program that would work for her busy schedule, and provide her the flexibility she needed as a working, single parent. Shara says,
“What really drew me to the school was how accommodating they were to work around my busy schedule. I was a single mom working full time, and this made all the difference for me, as it gave me the chance to take necessary steps forward without having to sacrifice what I was already working towards. I appreciated how attentive and passionate they were, and truly grew so much from this experience. The program was so well structured, and my instructor was such a wealth of knowledge!”
Shara graduated from the Advanced Medi-Spa Therapist program in December 2022, and has gone on to work at a national skincare company as an educator and account manager. She credits her time at IBI for preparing her for this next level of her career, and remains grateful for the support the school provided. Shara says, “I’m so blessed to have come from such an amazing school!”
As a proud IBI graduate, Shara shared some advice with current and prospective IBI students:
“There’s no perfect path. Everyone’s story looks a little different. Whatever your direction looks like, make sure you put yourself out there, broaden your skill set through continued education, but most importantly, stay passionate about what drives you, and never stop learning!”
The Advanced Medical Spa Therapist Program at International Beauty Institute
The Advanced Medi-Spa Therapist diploma program at International Beauty Institute provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue this rewarding career. Under the supervision of dedicated, experienced instructors, students in this 12-week program gain practical skills in advanced medical spa treatments, including learning how to conduct professional client consultations, and understanding sanitization and sterilization practices. Upon completion of the program, graduates are prepared to perform advanced procedures such as laser hair removal, photorejuvenation, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and skin tightening.
