The last time I got eyelash extensions was in 2016, a day before leaving for a week in rainy Ireland. My voluminous extensions braved the harsh winds and the wet climate and I was extremely surprised to come back home with only a handful of lashes falling out. Fast-forward to 2019 and I am once again in an eyelash technician’s chair getting ready to get my eyelash extensions; my sister found this lash bar back in May, and raved about it ever since and I wanted to give it a try. Melody, my lash technician, was an incredibly warm and fuzzy little woman who reassured me that, though the price was a little steep, it would be worth it when I saw the result.
I showed Melody a picture of a sexy cat eye for reference, with a fuller lash on the outside corner of the eye and she was excited to start on my vision. She began telling me that she moved from Taiwan in 2008, and that she had taken courses all over the world because she loved the contrast of varying beauty methods between different cultures. Melody looked at makeup artist courses in Toronto prior to travelling the world and she claimed that Canadians have the most progressive courses when it comes to eyelash art.
A positive customer experience can make the time fly by
I was in her technician chair for nearly three hours, but time flew by as she expanded on all of her training as she truly had a passion for her craft and a hunger for learning the newest techniques in the industry. I found out that Melody owns the lash bar and she had funded it with her own hard-earned money, which is impressive because she managed 4 other people under her. When she was done with my lashes, I opened my eyes and it was exactly what I wanted; a little lighter in the inner corners and a nice fuller lash on the outside to make my eyes sultry. I loved my lashes so much, I decided to book a refill appointment with Melody three weeks later.
An eyelash technician who is trained at a beauty college and has a passion for their craft translates to a better understanding of the client’s vision, which in turn creates loyal and long-term customers. Melody’s love for lashes and all aesthetic methods truly made my experience a valuable one, as I really appreciated how hard she worked to create her own lash bar from the ground up. She turned my fascination with eyelash extensions into an appreciation for the art and made me want to return to her for her services. The level of an aesthetician’s attitude and passion for their work influences their client immensely, and if Melody wasn’t as devoted to her work, I would not have returned to her lash bar.
Customers are more likely to book a future appointment after a good first experience
