I know how I get when I am running on 3 hours of sleep, have not eaten a balanced meal in a week and constantly on the move from one errand to another; I am grumpy, irritable and bitchy. When I feel myself getting rundown, I try to fit in a relaxing activity to thank my body for everything it lets me accomplish. I usually try to get a manicure and pedicure every two weeks, get a massage every two months, and a facial every three months. I have been in a money bind in the last year as I focused more on travelling, so I have found free ways to relax my body like taking deep breaths, having a hot shower and journaling about my day.
I vowed to myself when I am back on my feet with my financial situation, I will treat myself to a spa day. Medical spa therapy treatments have been sprouting rapidly in the last decade, a combination between conventional spa services and alternative healing therapies such as bone density scans, laser treatments and muscle and joint ailments. Becoming a spa therapist requires an intense medical spa course in which students transform into professionals by learning modules in acne treatments, microdermabrasion, laser hair removal, and skin contouring. A modern medical spa therapist requires to be trained in a mélange of health and wellness subjects as more clients require different treatments to feel like the best versions of themselves. People no longer just go to the spa to feel relaxed and rejuvenated, they also want to feel healed mentally and physically; there has been a rapid incline in ranges of medical spa training and medical spa courses to adjust to all the clients with their own individual needs. Spa industries are constantly advertising the ‘good life’, the holy trinity of mental invigoration, spiritual freedom and physical gratification and for good reason. A good medical spa treatment can relieve chronic stress and migraines and have a long-lasting effect on your overall energy.

It is equally important to work hard and push yourself to your limits to achieve your goals, and to take a moment and relax to regain your energy. Running on empty never served anyone favors, you end up doing the job miserable and even more stressed. Medical spa treatments aim to unwind and invigorate yourself to your best self and get health and wellness advice from industry professionals. Taking time to refresh yourself is not selfish, it’s crucial and the more you can relax and rejuvenate your body, the more it will thank you in the future. Stress might make you look older, but a medical spa treatment will make you feel younger.
A day at the spa can be the perfect way to de-stress
