Imagine trying to tweeze your eyebrows with a pair of scissors, or comb out your knots with a toothbrush – these tasks seem odd and merely impossible because you are not using the proper tools. This theory applies for makeup application and what types of brushes you use. Makeup artist school
will provide you with the knowledge of brushes and how they are operated – allowing you to be the most skilled and confident artist!
Below are two key application tools that every makeup artist should have in their kit and how you can use them:
A beauty blender is key for applying and blending out your foundations, concealers and your cream highlights and contours. The key to Kim K’s classic contour starts with a smooth foundation base, followed by highlighting and contouring with a seamless blend – no lines, no chin straps, no bacon strips!
Shadow Blending Brush:
The key to a smoldering smoky eye and flawless eye shadow is a very well blended and soft look. A Big fluffy brush is required to gently deposit product and blend out shadow creases or overlaps.
Makeup School Pro Tip: Hold the brush handle farther away from the brush head when blending for a softer application; this also reduces the risk of harshly depositing product in one spot.
Gel Wing Liner
Two things every makeup artist needs to know:
1. Upon completion of your Makeup Artistry Certificate or Diploma at the International Beauty Institute, you are eligible for a discount with a variety of makeup companies (including Makeup Forever and Mac!)
2. How to do a Gel Wing Liner
Makeup Artistry courses in Mississauga
at the International Beauty Institute will provide you with tips and tricks on how to perfect that wing liner and allows for lots of practice on your fellow peers. This will leave you with a confident, steady hand!
Highlighting and Contouring
Kim Kardashian’s contour is desired by all, but it is important to know that contouring is not a one-size-fits-all. Depending on your face shape, size and features, the areas that need to be lifted or brought back are different for every client. In the Makeup Artist course at the International Beauty Institute
you will learn the different face shapes and how to properly sculpt them.
