    Alumni Success Stories

“I had an amazing experience. I loved the teachers and how organized and professional the school was. I graduated, bought my own laser machine, and have my own studio. IBI let me live my dream and I’m doing what I love. I will for sure be going back there to get more courses from them. Trust me there are schools out there that will take your money and have no structure. IBI is by far the best.

FAQ About International beauty institute's Spa Therapist Diploma

Spa Therapists provide traditional beauty and wellness treatments including facials, body treatments, manicures, pedicures, and waxing. They also consult with clients, recommend skincare routines, and ensure a relaxing, professional experience.

The Spa Therapist Diploma is a 12-week program that combines online theory with in-person practical training. Both full-time and part-time schedules are available to suit your lifestyle.

The program is delivered in a hybrid format. Theory courses are completed online, while hands-on training is conducted in person at one of our campuses (Mississauga, Toronto/North York, or Hamilton).

        Graduates can pursue careers at:

        • Day and resort spas
        • Retail cosmetic lines and stores
        • Wellness centers
        • Home-based businesses
        • Entrepreneurial spa ventures

The program emphasizes hands-on training and real-world experience. Students gain practical skills in traditional treatments, learn how to conduct professional client consultations, and understand sanitization and sterilization practices. This ensures graduates are job-ready to enter the growing medical aesthetics industry.

You’ll graduate with an International Beauty Institute Diploma in Spa Therapist , recognized by employers across Ontario’s medical spa and aesthetics industry.

Applicants must have a Grade 12 diploma or mature student status and complete a personal admissions interview.

Students must also achieve a minimum overall average of 70%, with no grade lower than 60% in theoretical or practical exams, to successfully graduate from the program.

Both terms refer to professionals who perform skincare and beauty treatments. The difference is mainly in spelling and usage. “Aesthetician” (with an a) is often used in medical or advanced skincare settings, while “esthetician” is more common in traditional spas and salons. At IBI, we use “aesthetician” to reflect our focus on advanced, clinical-level training.

A degree is typically a longer, academic program offered by universities, focusing on theoretical knowledge and research. A diploma, like the programs at International Beauty Institute, focuses on hands-on, career-specific training designed to help you start working in your chosen field more quickly.
